Lund Chamber Choir creates themed concerts that bring together music from different periods and genres. Since its foundation in 1983, the choir has sought to move and inspire audiences through the power of song.

Today, the choir consists of around 30–40 singers aged between 20 and 60 and is conducted by Mattias Svensson. We perform both works for the full choir—soprano, alto, tenor, and bass—and repertoire for smaller vocal ensembles. Lund Chamber Choir is an independent ensemble with no religious or political affiliation. We rehearse primarily at Domkyrkoforum, beside Lund Cathedral. Our choir is united by a love of music, curiosity and the joy of singing.
Since the choir was founded by Eva Svanholm Bohlin in 1983, a cappella singing has been one of its defining characteristics. Our repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary works, always aiming to offer audiences fresh perspectives and unexpected musical encounters. Classical music forms the foundation of our repertoire, complemented by folk music, jazz, pop and other musical styles. We perform both secular and sacred music.
Each year, the choir presents two to four full-scale concerts, either independently or in collaboration with other organisations. We are also regularly invited to perform at celebrations, private events, corporate functions and other occasions. In addition, we sing at Sunday Eucharist services at Lund Cathedral once or twice each academic term.
Many of our concerts are inspired by the changing seasons and annual celebrations, including autumn, Christmas, Walpurgis Night and Sweden's National Day. Others explore literary themes, musical movements or the works of individual composers.

We warmly welcome experienced choral singers who would like to audition for Lund Chamber Choir.
Joining Lund Chamber Choir means becoming part of a friendly and supportive community. You'll sing a varied repertoire alongside committed and experienced singers, take part in themed concert projects, develop your musicianship together with the choir, and perform in several concerts each year in Lund and beyond. We place great importance on helping new members feel at home in our choir and introducing them to our rehearsal culture. Your commitment, enthusiasm and presence are valued just as highly as your musical skills.
For us, the social side of choir life is just as important as the music itself. We regularly arrange social gatherings, including coffee breaks, post-rehearsal get-togethers, picnics and choir dinners. Catching up over coffee during the rehearsal break and spending time together outside rehearsals are cherished parts of our choir culture. We believe that the best music is made when people feel comfortable, supported and enjoy singing together.
If you have previous choral experience and enjoy performing a varied repertoire, we would be delighted to welcome you to an audition.
